Life Time Achievement Award
Dr. Joy Nelson

At the OAKE Conference in Oklahoma City, last week, it was announced that Dr. Joy Nelson was awarded with a Life Time Achievement Award. Dr. Nelson has been very instrumental in disseminating Zoltán Kodály’s vision in the USA. During her time as Professor at the University of Oklahoma and Director of the Kodály program, she was the first one to offer a Doctoral degree in music with emphasis on Kodály. She is a Past-President of OAKE and a tutor very much in demand. Dr. Nelson also served on the Board of the IKS as Director from 2005 to 2013.
